Congress shall make no law respecting and establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom if speech, or of the press;or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This book is about truth and passion.

What makes this book dangerous is its raw honesty. Mr. Hervey lifts the veil of Black decadence at the same time he exposes the lies and political correctness of modern day America. Mr. Hervey said "I show that the Civil War was not fought over slavery and that the demise of my race in America is not of the White man, but rather of our own making. In this book I show how Blacks in America ran away from physical bondage to one far worse-- mental bondage."

A percentage of the proceeds of the sale of this book will aid Mr. Hervey in his legal defense for his false imprisonment and a percentage will be donated to the preservation of Southern Heritage. A financial contribution will be given to the victims of Katrina both Black and White.

You can have your F. Scott Fitzgeralds, Ernest Hemingways and John Steinbecks, even your wimpy crybabies, the likes of Eugene O'Neill. Hervey Allen is my kind of writer! "Hervey who?," you might ask. And I would tell you HERVEY ALLEN, born William Hervey Allen, Jr. Dec. 8,1889 in Pittsburgh, PA and died Dec. 28,1949 in Coconut Grove, FL, an extremely gifted literary tour de force of prose and poetry in the 20's, 30's and 40's, obscure today, and hopefully reborn tomorrow. His epic novel Anthony Adverse published in 1933 was critically acclaimed and a huge commercial success selling more than three million copies. By comparison, F. Scott Fitzgerald's novella The Great Gatsby opened to mixed reviews in 1925 and sold less than 25,000 copies during the author's lifetime. It only became a classic after Mr. Fitzgerald died in 1940, hitting meteoric heights in the 1950's largely through literary and academic reevaluation and embrace.   Perhaps the 1,224 page historical novel published in 1933 and award winning movie released in 1936 starring Fredric March, Olivia de Havilland, Claude Rains, and Gale Sondergaard were eclipsed by Gone with the Wind. Coming out in book form in 1936 and on film in 1939, it had a more memorable leading character via Hollywood. The subject of the American Civil War or the War for Southern Independence was more relevant to both Americans and Europeans than the Napoleonic era in Europe in 1933. More than likely, Mr. Allen would have enjoyed an everlasting international reputation in 1833 than 1933. Timing can be everything. Anthony Adverse has brilliantly memorable characters, plotlines, action, and tremendous scope. It is beautifully written with outstanding mood and nuance; a truly great work of art; Hervey Allen had a great imagination and artistic sensibility. How is it possible literary legacy could be so utterly remiss of good judgment and taste level?

"What a project, and what a book! A work that took four years to write and yet bears the stamp of gusto from the first page to last. A full-bodied tale of birth and death, of love and hate, of fighting, mating, scheming, drifting-of overbearing lords and ancient gentlemen, simpering dames, passionate women of several colors, murder, rapine, revenge, long voyages, desperate encounters. . . . A full adventurous romance, rich in action, heightened by poetic glamor." - Harry Hansen in The New York World-Telegram. The tale moves swiftly through the latter years of the Eighteenth and the early decades of the Nineteenth Centuries to delve deep amid the roots of the modern era. Anthony Adverse - begotten in France, born in the Alps, raised in Italy and flung by fortune to the West Indies, Africa, and finally to America-unlocks with the key of action the diverting experiences of his journey in body and thought from one hemisphere to another. Filled with memorable events, with affairs of the heart, the purse, and the mind in many lands and famous cities, this huge novel with hundreds of colorful people is interesting every step of the way. It has gusto, wise humor, beauty, and pathos. "Anthony Adverse will lay hold upon a vast multitude of readers and grip them fast by its fascinations. For it is a living book; if vibrates; it sings itself into the very marrow of the bones."- Paul Jordan Smith in The Los Angeles Times.
